Healing Village Nursery and Out of School Clubs mission is to create an environment to safeguard children from abuse and in which any suspicion of abuse is promptly and appropriately responded to. The setting is committed to protecting all persons in it’s care from harm. In order to achieve this, the setting will ensure that;
- It has an appointed member of staff as the Safeguarding Lead; that person is Helen Donlan, who is trained at a Level 3 in Safeguarding Children. If the Safeguarding Lead is unavailable, then the position will be covered by Jo Taylor who is trained at Level 3 in Safeguarding Children also. This qualification is updated every 2 years. The Safeguarding Lead has gained suitable experience and training and is responsible for liaising with Social Services, the North East Lincolnshire Safeguarding Children’s Partnership and Ofsted in any child protection matter.
- The Setting’s Safeguarding Policy complies with all relevant legislation and other guidance or advice from the working together (2015) document alongside North East Lincolnshire Safeguarding Children Partnership. You can refer and view our policy via our policy page here on the website. Please inform us if there is anything in your child’s past regarding safeguarding issues which you feel the Manager should be aware of in case additional measures need to be put in place within the setting.
- Procedures – Staff will make a record of any mark/injury a child has when they arrive at the setting, Parents/Carers will be asked to sign the record. These records are reviewed regularly to monitor any patterns or concerns. If any serious concerns are flagged up the Manager has a duty of law to contact the Local Safeguarding Board.
